Cydia 6.1.2

Few hours after Apple released their latest iOS 6.1.2, the jailbreak, and cydia download software was updated to support iOS 6.1.2 for all iOS devices including; iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 3GS, iPad Mini, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad 1, iPod Touch 5G, and iPod Touch 4G.

Jailbreak 6.1.2

This new jailbreak update, is also an Untethered Jailbreak which we all love. Please see the note below to learn the difference between Tethered and Untethered Jailbreak:

Untethered Jailbreak is the preferred jailbreak method because it requires no connection to your computer except for the 1st time that you jailbreak your device. You can reboot your device as many times as you like and your device will stay jailbroken. Even if your device loses power and you have to recharge it and turn it back on again, you will still have Cydia and your jailbreak status will stay active, without having to do any extra steps.

The new jailbreak update is quite simple, and it’s pretty much follow the same path as previous versions, as far as the steps to follow to jailbreak your device and download Cydia.

The first step that you need to do in order to jailbreak your device and install Cydia, is to update your iOS device to the latest iOS version which is in this case iOS 6.1.2. You can do that through iTunes or through your device directly. Below you will find a direct link for iOS 6.1.2 for each iOS device, in case you need it:

Hi, I have my iPad 2 running on jailbroken iOS 6.1.1. To install this jailbreak 6.1.2, Do I have to update from iTunes first? I mean, 6.1.2 in “original mode” first?

Or I proceed directly to jailbreak from jailbroken 6.1.1?

    Thanks

The new iOS 6.1.3 got released recently, and the current jailbreak software does not support it yet. A new jailbreak update is currently under development, there is no release date yet, but as soon as the new update is released you will be notified immediately.

      • Jay Hoffman says:

Adam, thanks for the quick response. There was a website that I ran across that had a 6.3.1 up date for jailbreak. I believe I followed it through Cydia website, not sure though. I didn’t trust the site. Thought I let you know. jwh
